Information

Orkos is a 1-kilometre long beach situated between Plaka and Mikri Vigla on the island of Naxos. The beach boasts thick sand and is best known as the most popular kitesurfing site on the island. Enthusiasts of the sport come from all over the world to experience "Meltemi," the strong northwest wind that blows throughout most of the summer, providing thrilling conditions for kitesurfing. Many operators in the area provide kitesurfing lessons and equipment rentals for those who are interested.

There are also a few restaurants, a mini-market, and a bakery in the vicinity. Facing the beach is a small island called Parthena, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the clear waters from several hotels and other accommodation services in the area. Access to the beach is possible by car or scooter, as there is no frequent bus connection available.
