Information

Fasolas, an old neighborhood in Filoti, is a captivating district located in the village of Filoti on the island of Naxos. This neighborhood stands as one of the most enchanting attractions on the island. It comprises a collection of shops from the past two centuries that have been meticulously restored to allow visitors to explore and experience their historical ambiance.

As you wander through the charming cobbled streets, you will encounter small picturesque shops that provide a glimpse into the functioning of this commercial district during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Interestingly, this neighborhood derives its name from a district with the same name in Kampos of Chios.

Among the restored shops, you will find the old forge that operated for four generations, crafting tools and everyday utensils for the inhabitants of Naxos. The carpenter shop, tailor shop, barber shop, and grocery store have also been lovingly restored. Additionally, there is an exhibition showcasing vintage product packaging from that era.

Several other shops are yet to be restored, including a shoemaker's shop, a traditional coffee shop, two windmills, and a bakery. The ultimate goal is to revive the bakery and produce bread using wheat cultivated by the inhabitants of Filoti, just as it was done in the past.
