Information

Moutsouna is a charming seaside village that used to be a significant port for the transportation of Naxian Emery, also known as Smirigli. Along the road leading to Moutsouna, visitors can still see the rusted wagons that once carried the mined cargo, untouched and reminiscent of a bygone era. The small harbor of the village is home to part of the stone loading and unloading platform, as well as imposing cranes that were once used for this purpose. The small sandy beach near the village was once a bustling hub for the transportation of this important material, but now it is a peaceful spot adorned with colorful fishing boats. Visitors can also enjoy fresh fish at the tavernas along the coastline. For those seeking more sandy beaches, Psili Ammos, Keidos, and Ligaridia are located further south.
