Chora of Naxos

This charming village, located on the west coast, is incredibly photogenic and perfect for a leisurely stroll. Its narrow lanes, traditional whitewashed houses and colorful corners showcase a beautiful blend of Cycladic architecture. It is also a fortified town with a mix of Cycladic and medieval architecture.

You can wander through the cobblestone alleys and admire the Venetian walled houses with the coat of arms of their Venetian owners on their grand residences' front doors. The Archaeological Museum, located here, is a must-visit. You can see a wide variety of finds dating back to the Late Neolithic period up until the Early Christian times. The impressive collection of Cycladic figurines holds a prominent position among the displays.
